Visit over 200 beautiful parks in Kingston year-round! Whether you are rolling, jogging or simply enjoying the lake views, our parks give you a chance to connect with nature, exercise, socialize and enjoy the outdoors.
Inclusive playgrounds with accessible features are available in City Park, Memorial Centre Park, Rotary Park, Lake Ontario Park and Welborne Park.
We have partnered with the YMCA for the Neighbourhood Parks Program for summer 2024 programming. Visit the YMCA webpage to learn more and find the rotating schedule.

Breakwater Park
Breakwater Park is located on King St., along with Ontario’s Waterfront Trail. It gives you great access to the water and green space for relaxing or being active. Its winding shoreline offers lovely, peaceful views of Lake Ontario and Wolfe Island. The park includes the Gord Edgar Downie Pier.

- No lifeguard on duty - SWIM AT OWN RISK
- Children should be directly supervised by an adult
- Children should be within arm's reach when in water
- Personal flotation devices (PFDs) are strongly recommended for weak or non-swimmers
- Deep water, strong winds and high waves can cause dangerous conditions
- Swimming after sunset is not recommended
- No jumping from bridge
- Surfaces are slippery when ice-covered

City Park
City Park is a spacious, green park located about a 10-minute walk west of City Hall along King Street
- A splash pad in summer and outdoor rink in winter (weather-permitting)
- Two playground spaces with climbers and swings; one accessible
- Public washrooms - open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. - Victoria Day to Thanksgiving
- The Walk at City Park – a peaceful walkway and water garden with tributes celebrating the lives of loved ones
- Picnic tables & BBQ's
- Mature trees (excellent for reading under)
- Two baseball diamonds at Cricket Field, north of City Park
Grass Creek Park
Grass Creek Park is a 95-acre rural park located in Kingston East, on Highway 2.
- Large sandy beach with a designated swimming area (no lifeguards - swim at your own risk, children must be supervised at all times)

Lake Ontario Park
Lake Ontario Park, our largest urban waterfront park, is located at 920 King St. West. It offers a substantial natural landscape that attracts both visitors and residents for picnicking and scenic waterfront walks.

Skateboard parks
Our skateparks provide a welcoming venue for skateboarders of all skill levels. They feature ramps, stairs, vertical elements and more. They are open daily from dawn to dusk.
Polson Park
This new skatepark, opened a month ahead of schedule, is located within Polson Park on Portsmouth Avenue. A 2,000 square foot concrete skate park contains a halfpipe, rail, ledge, fun box and set-up banks.
Shannon Park
This 8,000 square foot concrete skate park features classic skateboarding elements and a gathering area. Located on Daly Street at McCauley Street
