Plan ahead for detours during planned closure of the LaSalle Causeway
PSPC will be lifting out the temporary bridge on the LaSalle Causeway on Tuesday, Oct. 15 to allow a planned opening for marine traffic. The Causeway will be closed to pedestrians, cyclists, transit and motorists from 9 a.m. to midnight.
Detours for motorists and cyclists used during the summer Causeway closure will be in place during this time. Find up-to-date information, real-time traffic conditions and a live camera feed of the Waaban Crossing on the LaSalle Causeway updates page.
Kingston Transit will follow detour routes and service levels on the 601/602 and Route 12A will replace Route 12. Route 22 will operate on the published schedule. Plan your trip by viewing Kingston Transit’s schedules and maps.
In the event of high winds or unsuitable conditions, the bridge lift may be delayed or cancelled by PSPC. PSPC plans to install electronic signage to communicate status of the closure at the Waaban and LaSalle crossings, which residents can consult when travelling through these areas. We will share updates to detours and transit services if a cancellation or delay is expected.
