Plan ahead! Detours scheduled during temporary LaSalle Causeway closure

PSPC will be lifting out the temporary bridge on the LaSalle Causeway on Saturday, Nov. 16 to allow a planned opening for marine traffic. The Causeway will be closed to pedestrians, cyclists, transit and motorists from 9 a.m. to midnight. This is the last scheduled temporary closure for 2024.

Detours for motorists and cyclists used during the Oct. 15 Causeway closure will be in place. Find up-to-date information, real-time traffic conditions and a live camera feed of the Waaban Crossing on the LaSalle Causeway updates page.

Kingston Transit will follow detour routes and service levels on Express 601/602. Route 12A will operate between the Bus Terminal and CFB Kingston to provide service on Highway 15 from Gore Road to CFB Kingston. Plan your trip on the Transit app or use Kingston Transit’s schedules and maps.

If weather conditions are unsuitable, PSPC may delay or cancel the bridge lift. PSPC plans to install electronic signage to communicate the closure status at the Waaban and LaSalle crossings, which residents can consult when travelling through these areas. We will share updates to detours and transit services if a cancellation or delay is expected.
