Pick up a free-of-charge Canadian flag at select City facilities starting April 25
Update: All Canadian flags have been claimed. Thank you for your enthusiasm!
They’re red, white and almost ready to go!
On April 1, 2025, Kingston City Council passed a motion to provide Canadian flags free of charge to Kingston residents. Starting tomorrow morning, April 25, about 300 made-in-Canada flags will be available at different City facilities.
Maple leaf calling your name? Here’s some important information to keep in mind:
- Find flags at Rideau Heights Community Centre, Kingston East Community Centre, INVISTA Centre, Artillery Park Aquatic Centre, and the Clerk’s Department at City Hall (located on the first floor; turn left at the security desk when you enter from Ontario Street).
- Please see front desk staff to inquire about a flag, available during regular business hours for each facility. Please note City Hall is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Recreation facilities are open seven days a week.
- Flags are available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last, with a limit of one flag per household. We cannot reserve or hold flags.
- Accessibility accommodations can be made by contacting the City.
Please remember to be kind, online and in line!
