Notice of Intention to stop up and permanently close, declare surplus and dispose of municipal property: Innovation Drive

Pursuant to the City’s Public Notice Policy and the Disposition of Real Property Policy take notice that the Council of the Corporation of the City of Kingston intends to stop up and permanently close, declare surplus and dispose of the following municipal property:

Lands affected: Parts 11, 12, 13, 19, 20, 21, 22, and 23 on 13R-23292. Shown on the attached sketch which is a portion of the survey completed by Hopkins Chitty Land Surveyors, 2024.

Explanatory note:

St. Lawrence Business Park has been developed in multiple phases over the years. The affected lands are part of a temporary cul-de-sac that was constructed prior to the eastward extension of Innovation Dr. Recently, staff upgraded Innovation Drive from the affected lands to its eastern terminus. Since the cul-de-sac on the affected Lands is no longer required for municipal purposes, the land previously occupied by the cul-de-sac are now considered surplus and will be sold to the adjacent landowners at market value.

City Council will consider a motion to declare the affected Lands surplus on May 6, 2025 at 7 p.m. at its regular meeting to be held in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Kingston.

Anyone wishing to be heard regarding these matters should contact the Clerk’s Office or provide written comments before 4:30 p.m., May 5, 2025.

In the event that the matter is deferred, no further public notice will be given.
