New exhibition features Kingston artists in the Market Wing Cultural Space in City Hall

The City of Kingston is excited to announce the Kingston Artists’ Showcase, an exhibition celebrating the diverse talents of local artists. This two-part showcase will run from October 2024 to November 2025 at the Market Wing Cultural Space, located within City Hall.

The Kingston Artists’ Showcase features a mix of emerging, mid-career and established Kingston-based artists, and a wide variety of mediums including prints, paintings, textiles and sculpture. Local artists interested in exhibiting submitted an application through an open call and over 60 artists will be included in the year-long exhibition.

“This exciting new exhibition helps to tell the stories of Kingston, through the voices and perspectives of artists who live and work here,” says Danika Lochhead, Director, Arts & Culture Services. “We are so happy to be able to showcase local artists in this civic space and expand opportunities for residents and visitors to learn about that creativity and talent in our community.”

The exhibition unfolds in two parts:

  • The first part features 30 artists and opens Wednesday, Oct. 30. You can visit the exhibition Wednesday to Saturday, 12 – 4 p.m. The last date to view the first part will be Friday, April 25, 2025.
  • The second part featuring a new cohort of Kingston artistic talent runs May 2025 – November 2025 (specific dates to be announced).
