More frequent and available transit

Starting on Sept. 3 several route adjustments and changes will be made to meet the changing needs of Kingston Transit’s customers and make the service more available to new ones. This means 15-minute service on major routes: the Express 501/502 and 701/702, and 30-minute service most other routes. Also being introduced is expanded service to new areas of the city: Westbrook and Providence Care Hospital.

“Kingston Transit is continuously looking to improve our service, this means making adjustments based on resident and customer feedback to build transit service that is available where needed,” said Christopher Norris, General Manager of Kingston Transit. “Our goal is to provide frequent service that people choose because it’s easy and available.”

Service highlights are listed below. Transit customers can also find the information on Kingston Transit’s website, and in trip planning apps like Transit App.

Improving frequency across the transit system

Improving Access Downtown

On the other side of downtown it will connect all three hospitals, Kingston General, Hotel Dieu and Providence Care.

Westbrook

Weekday peak period service to Westbrook starts in September as Route 19A. This new route will go through Westbrook and Woodhaven and connect to Kingston Transit’s frequent service network at the Cataraqui Centre where customers can continue their journeys.
