Join us for the 2024 Mayor’s Arts Awards reception!
The Mayor’s Arts Awards, now in its eighth year, celebrates the arts in Kingston. All are invited to attend a public reception to recognize the 2024 recipients of the Mayor’s Arts Awards program.
“Our vibrant arts community helps make Kingston a wonderful place to live, and the Mayor’s Arts Awards is a way to celebrate all those who contribute to the cultural landscape of our city,” said Danika Lochhead, Director, Arts & Culture Services at the City of Kingston. “The awards are an opportunity to support, encourage and recognize our local artists while building on the City’s commitment to investing in the arts.”
This year’s awards program included an open call for nominations for the first time, which received more than 58 nominations, and updates were made to the award categories for nominating a deserving individual or group. A Selection Committee was formed to select and identify the recipients. The City also expanded its partnership with the Kingston Arts Council, who oversaw the review and selection process of the recipients.
