Intersection construction beginning at Sir John A. Macdonald Boulevard and Elmwood Street

To improve safety and access for the new Canadian Tire development at the corner of Sir John A. Macdonald Boulevard and Bath Road, Canadian Tire Real Estate Ltd. has contracted Tomlinson Group to upgrade the intersection at Sir John A. Macdonald Boulevard and Elmwood Street beginning Wednesday, Oct. 2.  

Traffic flow will continue on the affected roadways; sidewalk and partial lane closures will be marked with signage and traffic control workers. 

Construction will include: 

  • Replacement of street lighting
  • New traffic lights at the intersection
  • Replacement of road asphalt
  • New multi-use pathway south of the intersection towards Bath Road. 

The construction will begin on Oct. 2 and will take place Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for an estimated duration of 11 weeks (weather dependent).
