Have Your Say: Help Shape Kingston’s Future

How should Kingston move and grow over the next 25 years? Share your vision and priorities for the new Official Plan and Integrated Mobility Plan through a survey on Get Involved Kingston until March 7 – your feedback will help shape the future of our city.

"The new Official Plan will outline how land will be used, where buildings will be built, and how resources and special places will be protected in Kingston for the next 25 years,” said Laura Flaherty, Project Manager with Planning Services. “It sets the framework guiding all growth and development decisions, which will have a lasting impact for all current residents and future generations and is pivotal in ensuring sustainable growth that reflects the community's needs and aspirations.”

For the first time, the Official Plan is being developed alongside the City’s new Integrated Mobility Plan—a plan that will shape how people move around Kingston in the future.

“At the core of the Integrated Mobility Plan is a commitment to creating a future transportation system that provides more options for people of all ages and abilities,” said Matt Kussin, Manager of Transportation Policy and Programs. “This survey is a critical opportunity for residents to help shape that vision and guide how we get there.”

This survey is a key part of the public engagement efforts that began in 2024, including the launch of the Community Advisory Group and pop-up opportunities across the city. It is an important opportunity to help shape the vision, but just one step in an ongoing process as there will be many more chances to provide input as these projects progress. Together, we can plan for a vibrant and sustainable future for Kingston!

The City of Kingston acknowledges that we are on the traditional homeland of the Anishinabek, Haudenosaunee, and the Huron-Wendat, and thanks these nations for their care and stewardship over this shared land.

Today, the City is committed to working with Indigenous peoples and all residents to pursue a united path of reconciliation.
