Media Inquiries

Understanding the tight deadlines of modern journalism, the City’s media relations team works to provide reporters with qualified spokespeople and information not covered by the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act in a timely fashion.

Members of the media can reach our media relations team by emailing communications@cityofkingston.ca or call at 613-546-0000 ext.2300. Please provide your name, outlet, nature of request and your deadline.

Media requests are responded to between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Generally requests are resolved the same day; however, requests received after 2 p.m. may not be completed until the next business day. Requests that are complex in nature or require large volumes of information may require additional time.

The City of Kingston acknowledges that we are on the traditional homeland of the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee and the Huron-Wendat, and thanks these nations for their care and stewardship over this shared land.

Today, the City is committed to working with Indigenous peoples and all residents to pursue a united path of reconciliation.
