Elections
Elections for municipal government are held every four years on the fourth Monday in October. The next municipal election will be on Monday, October 26, 2026. During a municipal election electors can vote for the Mayor, their district councillor, and school board trustees. It is one way for residents to have a say in local decision-making.

Eligible voters cast ballots for the following:

- Mayor – 1 at large
- Councillors – 12, each representing 1 district. See electoral districts map below.
- School Board Trustees:
- Limestone District School Board – 1 trustee for each of 5 areas
- Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board – 4 trustees at large
- Conseil des écoles publiques de l'Est de l'Ontario (French Public) – 1 trustee at large
- Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est (French Separate) - 1 trustee at large
