Private residence and property standards
We care about your privacy and property, so we have specific standards your property must meet. Learn more about property standards.
In residential areas, you can store these vehicles in a garage, carport or an interior side or rear yard, excluding required parking spaces. The vehicle must sit at least one metre from a lot line. Travel trailers are allowed up to a maximum length of 8.2 metres and storing recreational vehicles on vacant lots is prohibited.
Recreational vehicles encompass trailers, travel trailers, motorized RVs, boats, ATVs, utility trailers, snowmobiles and similar vehicles. You can temporarily park a recreational vehicle in a front or exterior side yard for up to 72 hours a month to prepare for use. Exceeding the 72 hour limit violates our bylaw, which may prompt enforcement in response to complaints.
