Zoning Bylaws

Zoning bylaws are regulations that control the use of land across the city. Zoning Bylaws detail how land may be used, where buildings can be located and include requirements such as lot sizes, parking and building heights.

We recently updated our current and former Zoning Bylaws and are working on improving the accessibility of these documents. In the meantime, you can request a copy of the revised Kingston Zoning Bylaw.

Former Zoning Bylaws

The former zoning bylaws have been repealed in their entirety with a few exceptions.

Properties that are still subject to the former zoning bylaws are shown as “Not Subject to this Bylaw” in the current Kingston Zoning Bylaw.

The City of Kingston acknowledges that we are on the traditional homeland of the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee and the Huron-Wendat, and thanks these nations for their care and stewardship over this shared land.

Today, the City is committed to working with Indigenous peoples and all residents to pursue a united path of reconciliation.
