Special Event Permits

Review the details outlined below to see if you need a special event permit for your event.

A Special Event Permit is required if you answer "yes" to both of the following:

  1. Is your event taking place in a City park or First Capital Place (Springer Market Square, City Hall, or Confederation Park)?
  2. Does your event have any of the following?
    • Selling or serving food/alcohol
    • Sound amplification (speakers, megaphones) or generator
    • Tents or stages
    • Amusement rides, games or inflatables, i.e., bouncy castle
    • Fundraising, such as running a lottery, draw, or raffle
    • Fireworks

Insurance is also required.

If your event does not meet the above criteria, you can book a Park Permit instead. These events may include photo shoots, meetings, kitchens, fire pits, BBQs, and bake ovens.
