Plumbers
You must obtain a licence from the Licensing and Enforcement Division to operate as a Master Plumber or operate a Plumbing Contractor business in Kingston.
How to apply
- Have an Ontario Certificate of Qualification (CoFQ) for at least two years.
- Provide proof of insurance: a copy of liability insurance issued by a company authorized to provide insurance in the Province of Ontario in the amount of $2,000,000.

Note:
- Plumbing Contractors are engaged in the business of contracting services for the installation, repair and maintenance of plumbing work. A Plumbing Contractor is or employs a Master Plumber for their business which may include but is not limited to soliciting, advertising and/or representing theirselves to the public as performing plumbing services.
- A Master Plumber is a journeyperson plumber skilled in the planning, superintending and installation of plumbing work who is familiar with the laws, rules and regulations that govern the plumbing trade.
