Utilities Kingston recognized among Canada’s 2025 Best Safety Cultures in the Workplace
Utilities Kingston has been named one of Canada's 2025 Best Safety Cultures in the Workplace, highlighting the organization's exceptional commitment to employee safety and well-being.
“Safety is a shared responsibility, and this recognition speaks to the strong culture our employees have built together,” says David Fell, President and Chief Executive Officer at Utilities Kingston. “By working together, looking out for one another, and putting safety first, we’re creating a workplace where everyone feels supported, confident, and most importantly, gets home safely to their families every day.”
The recognition, presented by Canadian Occupational Safety (COS), followed a rigorous two-step evaluation process involving the Utilities Kingston’s health and safety team and employees. It began with a detailed application outlining the organization's safety initiatives, followed by an employee survey measuring satisfaction with key safety practices.
The results placed Utilities Kingston among Canada’s top safety-focused employers. Organizations achieving an overall employee satisfaction rating of 80 per cent or higher qualified for the prestigious 5-Star Safety Culture Award, which recognizes companies that embed health and safety into every level of their operations, from leadership to front-line staff.
This recognition adds to a growing list of recent safety achievements. In 2024, Utilities Kingston was recognized as an Excellence Awardee in Canada’s Safest Employers Awards and received a Silver Award from OHS Canada for excellence in contractor safety management. These achievements reflect the organization’s continued efforts to strengthen its safety culture through leadership, employee engagement and a focus on continuous improvement.
